What does it mean to embed a librarian in a Canvas course?

Embedding a librarian in your Canvas course will give students increased accessibility to contact a librarian at their point of need.
We customize our embedded librarian services based on instructor preference. A common example would be a librarian providing a well-timed announcement or creating a custom research assistance help page in a course with a research paper on the horizon. The purpose of this would be to direct students to recommended databases, resources, and search strategies. Other examples include having librarians build and provide custom research activities or exercises to be executed within Canvas.
The Canvas role of "Librarian" does not provide our librarians with access to grading functions or the class gradebook.
